Why Trees? The World Needs More — Oasis Park Is Planting 60 Million.

Understanding the power of trees.

Trees are one of the most extraordinary forces of nature. They are not just part of the scenery — they are the foundation of life, climate stability, and human well-being. At Oasis Park, our mission to plant 60 million trees is based on a simple, scientific truth: trees are among the most effective natural tools we have to fight global warming.

The primary cause of climate change is excess carbon dioxide (CO₂) in the atmosphere. Trees absorb this CO₂, lock it inside their roots and wood, and release clean oxygen back into the air. A single mature tree can store hundreds of kilograms of carbon during its lifetime. A forest of millions can change the future of entire regions. By expanding green cover, we are not only cooling the planet — we are directly counteracting the very gas responsible for rising temperatures.

But the impact of trees goes even further. Trees stabilize the soil, prevent erosion, and help maintain the water cycle. In many regions, tree planting restores dried land, supports groundwater replenishment, and protects landscapes from floods and droughts. Their leaves filter pollutants, reduce dust, and improve the air quality we breathe every day.

Trees also create life. From insects and ants to songbirds, bees, butterflies, small mammals, and even large wildlife, forests support entire ecosystems. A single tree can host hundreds of species — a living skyscraper of biodiversity. When we plant trees, we recreate habitats, revive food chains, and bring back the delicate balance that makes nature thrive.

Well-being

Immunity

The benefits of trees extend deeply into human health. Being among trees reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, calms the mind, and strengthens the immune system. Forest air contains natural compounds that improve well-being and help the body recover from physical and emotional strain. Hugging a tree or simply standing beneath one is not just symbolic — it is healing.

And the beauty of trees is this: everyone can be part of the solution. Whether someone plants a tree in their own garden, supports reforestation, donates, or simply takes part in the Hug-A-Tree Challenge, every action counts. Restoring forests is not only for scientists, governments, or environmentalists — it is something any person, anywhere in the world, can join.

Trees heal the planet. Trees heal people. And together, with millions taking part, we will build the forests of tomorrow — tree by tree, heart by heart.
